Our Alumni Spotlight shines a light on the inspiring journeys of our school's alumni who have made impactful contributions in their careers and continue to embody the values and mission of St. Martin de Porres Catholic School. This month, we're proud to feature Mike Glymph, Chair of the St. Martin de Porres Catholic School Foundation Board. Glymph, a 2001 graduate of St. Martin de Porres Catholic School and a dedicated member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church is a testament to the power of a solid educational foundation.


Mike Glymph, our featured alumnus this month, is a living testament to the transformative power of a St. Martin de Porres Catholic School education. Reflecting on his time at the school, Glymph shared, "My school experience laid a solid foundation for my future, equipping me with the skills and mindset necessary to thrive in various endeavors. Beyond academics, the school provided opportunities for personal growth through extracurricular activities and leadership roles." His deep passion for the school is rooted in his family's historical ties. His grandmother, mother, and sister attended St. Martin, with several aunts and cousins who taught and worked there. The school's legacy is intertwined with his family's, making his role especially meaningful. His father is also the St. Martin de Porres Catholic School Board Chair.


Glymph's story is a powerful reminder of the impact of a St. Martin de Porres Catholic School education. He encourages other alumni to be involved with the school and foundation, stating, "As a proud St. Martin de Porres Catholic School alum, I recognize our school's significant role in shaping who we are today. The experiences, friendships, and skills we've acquired are essential parts of our journey. Now, it's time for us to give back—not only to honor that legacy but to help set the stage for future generations of students." His call to action is a compelling invitation for all alumni to contribute to the school's mission and inspire future generations.


Mike Glymph, a native of Columbia, SC, has built an impressive career that has positively impacted the community. He is the Vice President of Government Relations at Monument Advocacy in Washington, DC, and previously served as the Director of Government Relations for Feeding America. His dedication also extends into community service, with influential roles on the Francis Marion University Young Alumni Council and the Greater Columbia Community Relations Council. He has also led as President of the Young Democrats of South Carolina and served as an American Council of Young Political Leaders Delegate and New Leaders Council Fellow. These achievements, coupled with his strong ties to the school, reflect our foundation's values and inspire our future alumni.
