Our Alumni Spotlight spotlights the inspiring journeys of our school's alumni who have made impactful contributions in their careers and continue to embody the values and mission of St. Martin de Porres Catholic School. This month, we're proud to feature LeShunn White. Sr, who graduated from St. Martin de Porres Catholic School in 1985 and serves as the St. Martin de Porres Catholic School Foundation Board Treasurer.
Reflecting on his time at the school, Mr. White shared, “My education at St. Martin de Porres Catholic School shaped my academic path and personal principles. The supportive atmosphere, grounded in faith and community, prioritized academic achievement and the values of compassion, respect, and service to others. Passionate teachers fostered my curiosity and critical thinking, empowering me to tackle new challenges confidently. The strong moral and spiritual support I experienced didn't just shape my time at St. Martin’s. Still, it instilled a lasting sense of responsibility and integrity that continues to influence my life today.”
Le'Shunn, a father of 7, has a personal investment in education, with 6 of his children also being St. Martin de Porres Catholic School Alum. He serves as an Emotional Disabled Teacher at Keenan High School and is the recreational coordinator at MLK Community Center. His understanding of the impact of positive influences on today's youth is evident in his role as a youth sports coach in the Waverly area for nearly 3 decades. He lives by the motto, "Do what you love and love what you do; always win at life," reflects his passion and commitment.
